SPICY SHRIMP AND GRITS

I love Seafood and breakfast so Shrimp and Grits is one of my favorite meals to make. It's the tye of meal that you can make or eat any time of the day. What I love about making this dish is that fact that is easy and can be made to fit your taste. I have serveral versions of Shrimp and Grits but my favorite is the spicy verison which is shown above.

Ingredients

• Quakers 5 minute Quick Grits 
• 1 Pound of devained Shrimp 
• Salt
• Black Pepper
• Seasoning salt or Mrs.Dash Seasoning

Grits Recipe 

• 1 cup of Quick Grits 
• 1 1/2 cup of water 
• 1 1/2 cup of milk
• 1/2 cup of chedder cheese
• Salt, to tatste
• Black pepper, to taste

Day 1 Crew : BBQ with Friends

Sunday Dinner

 Sunday is my favorite day of the week because I can really dedicate time to cooking great meals for my family and friends. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen but I try to spend extra time on Sunday's to make satisfying and delicious meals that will not be forgetten throughout the week. I enjoy cooking Sunday dinners for my family because it's a tradition I grew up on and something I plan to continue.

Happy Mother's Day !

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful Mother's!

I decided to take my mother out for mother's day this year instead of cooking so we could spend some time together. After trying to find a nice place to eat, we stumbled across Intermezzo. An Italian resturant located in Chelsea. 

Below are pictures of the appetizer we had which was mussels in garlic sauce and fried calamari with an assortment of bread

 The main entrees were delisous! I had the balsamic glazed pork chop with fresh greeen beans. My mother had the spicey shrimp and pasta..and my girlfriend had the pasta with chicken with vodka sauce 

                        

 

The desserts were very good! I always want to try cheesecake at every resturant that has it so I can judge who makes the best cheesecake in NYC. Ooo my girlfriend is the complete opposite...she has to try something new so she tried the tiramisu.

                                

Gotta love Breakfast!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so I usually try to make a good breakfast at least three times a week. I love potatoes so I make a lot homefies. I love making homefries because I get the chance to be creative every time. 

No breakfast is complete with out bacon and eggs. I like pork bacon but turkey and beef bacon is just as good when cooked the right way.

So I went on a little adventure with my lady today and after about 2 hours of doing what she wanted to do...it was time for me to find something good to eat. Lets just say after a long discussion we decided to go to The SHAKE SHACK!

Brooklyn Nets Vs Chicago Bulls

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SPECIAL LADY!

My lady turned 26 today so I suprised her with VIP tickets to see the Nets vs. Chicago. This was her first time attending a basketball game so I wanted to make sure her first time was extra special. Happy to say that she loved every minute of her birthday and was smiling for ear to ear the entire time. Since this was our first time at the Barclays Arena.... we indulged in all of the food we could eat. Sadly, the Nets lost this game but on the upside we got a chance to enjoy some really good food.

My Famous Seafood Stew

So I make this amazing soup that everyone loves... My inspiration for making this soup was from eating Jamaican Fish Tea soup as a child. I've always loved Fish Teas soup but I wanted to make a soup that went beyond what I was use to eating. Each time I make this stew  it comes out a little bit better that the last time. I add all my favorite shell fish amd different types of fish that give my soup deep rich flavors. I love to make this stew in the winter when it's really cold out because there is nothing better than knowing that after coming in from a long day of work ...there will be a hot pot of stew waiting.

Baked Maccaroni and Cheese with a Twist!

I love maccaroni cheese and it's one of my favorite side dishes to make. I grew up on mac and cheese .. my mother makes the best mac and cheese but I thought it was time to make mac and cheese with a twist. I added a little extra to the dish. See pictures below

 I made a four chesse mac and cheese with smoked sausage, ground beef and bacon. I added a little bit of Italian breadcrumbs just for added texture.I was a really good dish and my family loved it. 

Itgens in Valley Stream, NY

Itgen's Ice Cream Parlour

Itgen's Ice cream Parlour as small shop in Valley Stream, NY. I was first introduced to Itgen's after a friend purchased one of their homemade ice cream cakes. I decided to stop in and check it out and to my surprise I was very pleased with the food. I had one of their famous burgers and their fish platter specials. Since Itgen's is an Ice cream Parlour.. I purchased an ice cream cake and it was very delicious.

Cabana- Forest Hills, NY

Celebrated one of my Best Friends Birthday at Cabana's in Forest Hills, NY! Tonight was my first night trying this place out. I went with a large group of friends so we ordered just about everything on the menu. I'm a huge fan of  Cuban food so it was nice to taste authintic cuban dishes. I think my favorite dish tonight was the steak with he grilled red onions. If your ever in the Forest Hills area.. Try this place out. The food  and drinks are reasonably priced and it a great 

  

Gotta Go to Joe's !! JOE'S CRABSHACK REVIEW

JOE'S CRAB SHACK  is one of my favorite chain resturants. I'm not a huge fan of chain resturants but Joe's Crab Shack is a great resturant to get drinks and good food. The service is also great because the give you cool smocks with personalized names and provide you with entertainment. I highly reccomend Joe's... It's a good place to relax and enjoy good food!
